The Xiaomi 12S series failed the DxOMark test, contrary to what we had previously predicted, but Xiaomi has since reversed course and the results are now available! DxOMark has examined the Xiaomi 12S Ultra!
Despite Mi 11 Ultra's superior hardware to Xiaomi 12S Ultra's, Mi 11 Ultra has managed to score higher than 12S Ultra. Although the Xiaomi 12S Ultra has a great set of cameras for daily use, it falls short of its rivals in a few crucial areas.
DxOMark notes that the images from the Xiaomi 12S Ultra are inconsistent. Despite having excellent hardware overall, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra struggles to compete in some software-related areas.
The 12S Ultra missed the grid and blurred the fingers in this portrait mode photo. On the other hand, the Mi 11 Ultra accurately detects it.
The same scene was used multiple times in this test. In comparison to the main camera sensors, telephoto lenses are still unable to compete well. Even though the scene is identical in these shots, they note that the 12S Ultra produces inconsistent results.
